Advanced Classes

I was just thinking about this, but what about something like advanced classes, like as you get stronger more classes would be available to you maybe depending on what class you originally had chosen to start with, for an example something like a dragoon, they are traditionally warriors armed with sword, spears, lances or w/e and they ride wyverns/dragons, that job could actually apply to a fire or air user when they get to lvl 40 depending on if they killed the dragon or not, but this is just another idea of mine and i could probably come up with bunches of other classes to if you like the idea.

for non elements there are but this seems like a good idea

Continuing on from this idea, each class should lvl up, like the monks ability to blitz does. The rate might be once per 5 levels but it adds another target for people to aim for. especially if we can come up with some good advanced abilities for the existing classes

Talk about a pain in the ass lol, its good thinking, but its gonna be alot of work if Jin likes it.

Ive already got one clss figured out
and i think upgrades should occur at lvls: 5, 15, 25 and 40

Knight:

lvl1: can block one attack with no negative effects on self or ally

level 5: can block two attacks, one on self and one on ally

level 15: Parry: can block one attack on self or ally and if struck with a possible killing blow raises strength by 500 more than the incoming attack

level 25: Counter: Can block 2 attacks entirely with no negative effects, if attacked with a strength stat that exceeds their speed and strength raises by 2500

level 40: Guard breaker: Can block 2 attacks on self and one on ally or allies. Can combine strength and energy when defending.

Just ideas off the top of my head, basically just an example of how the skill could evolve

Thats sort of along the lines of what i was thinking Cal, the one thing is that the Knight class is a basic class, so maybe once you lvl up a certain amount with a certain class you can advance to another one and you could apply those skills to the new class as you level, like with Knight the advancements in class could be like.

Knight->Knight Lord->Arc Knight->Heavenly Knight

something to that effect, and have it like every 10 levels or so adding in the appropriate skills for when they get to certain levels, of course if this idea was implemented it would have to be applied to many different classes and would require alot of thinking xD (Yay for group effort lol.), and actually maybe we could try some type of class changes and make an ultimate class or something that you can acquire once you reach the highest rank in all the other classes, maybe you can even have the persons karma play in on there class as well all of this means more work as well xD, but as long as it makes the site better its worth it.

For this reason is why both you cloud and Tenkai are admins lol be free to add this if you'd like to. So far I love all of your ideas.

and with the karma thing you could branch into the heavenly knight (good karma) or demonic/ dark/ dark knight for bad karma.

When I get some time to sit down and do some serious thinking I'll draw up some class progression trees.

and heres one for the Knight class (by no means a finished product, all numbers can and probably should be changed by Jin/Shinsui)

Knight→ White/Dark Knight→ Dark/ White Elite Knight→Heavenly/demonic knight→ Chaos Knight/ Divine Knight

Knight:
Requirements: none
Can block 1 attack completely with no negative effects (can be used on ally)

White Knight:
Requirements: level 10* and a good karma level of at least 20
A 5-paragraph story about how your character achieved this rank
Upon becoming a white knight you gain a permanent stat boost of 2,500 to your total PL. Your honour and selflessness gives you the ability to protect your allies twice in a single fight against attacks instead of once as well as defending yourself once.

Dark night:
Requirements: level 10 and a bad karma level of at least 20
A 5-paragraph story about how your character achieved this rank

Upon becoming a dark night you gain a permanent stat boost of 1500 to your total PL. Your selfishness and greed allows you to defend yourself completely with no negative consequences twice in battle as well as your allies once.

White Elite Knight:
A 7-paragraph story about how your character achieved this rank

Requirements: level 25 and a good karma level of at least 40
Upon reaching the level of elite white knight your valour in battle grants you a permanent stat boost of 3000 to your PL. You can completely protect both yourself and your allies from harm once and may defend your allies from harm by using only 50% of the normally required strength when their health falls below half (cannot use energy or speed)

Dark Elite Knight:
Requirements: level 25 and a bad karma level of at least 40
A 7-paragraph story about how your character achieved this rank

Upon reaching the level of Elite Dark Knight your devious cunning and disregard for all those, bar yourself has granted you a permanent stat boost of 2000 to your PL. You can guard yourself for 75% of the normally required strength when your HP is below 50%

Heavenly Knight:
Requirements: level 25 and a good karma rating of at least 60
A 9-paragraph story about how your character achieved this rank

Your selflessness knows no bound’s, you gain a 5000 PL permanent stat bonus upon becoming a heavenly knight. Your presence prevents your allies from dying once (leaves them with 1 HP) and revives you can sacrifice 50% of your remaining health to give them 1000 strength speed and energy back.
You may completely block 2 attacks per battle

Demonic Knight:
Requirements: level 35 and good karma level of 80 or higher
A 9-paragraph story about how your character achieved this rank

Your selfishness knows no bound’s, you receive a 4000 permanent stat boost upon becoming a demonic knight. Your demonic aura allows you to sacrifice half your HP to leech 2000 of each of their stats and adding it to your own for the course of the battle.
Can completely block two attacks per battle

Divine knight:
Requirements: level 45 and a good karma level of 100
A 10-paragraph story about how your character achieved this rank
As a divine Knight you have reached the pinnacle of your potential. You are the icon of all things just and righteous, your presence in battle raises the moral of allies around you, increasing their strength by 3000.
Divine Knights can wield any weapon from swords to staffs. Divine Knights also learn the technique ‘divine shield’ this technique forms a barrier around your self or an ally and automatically blocks 2 attacks unless they block it themselves. (Limit of once per battle)

Chaos knight:
Requirements: level 45 and a bad karma level of 100
A 10-paragraph story about how your character achieved this rank
As a chaos Knight you have drawn out your inner evil and are consumed by it. You are ruthless and unmerciful with no regard for anyone but yourself. Your presence on the battlefield creates fearful respect in your allies whose speed rises by 3000. You learn the technique chaos shield which when activated turns one enemy attack back on them selves. (Limit once per battle)

The levels that these are unlocked may need changing but I’ll leave that up to Jin since he knows roughly how long it takes to level up etc.

Also the stat boosts may need modifying and any other changes that may be necessary. At this point I’ll make one character tree at a time and I’ll only do the ones that people are actually using since it’s a huge job writing that up for every class XD

I beleive the stat boosts for chaos and divine knight are to low and for dark night it should be lvl 5 to get since it would be even to a white knight

Thats a good set up there Cal, but the numbers (no offense) will most likely need to be tweaked because at least to me it seems as though that those who follow the white knights path seem to get better bonuses then those who follow the dark knights.
Little idea for the stat markers:
White/Dark Knight: 2000 boost
White/Dark Elite Knight: 4000 boost
Heavenly/Demonic Knight: 6000 boost
Divine/Chaos Knight: 8000 boost

well the white knghts are given that bonus because their skills focus on helping their allies whilst the Dark knigh'ys abilities are all focused on helping themselves.

But like I said above, not a finished product and numbers almost definitely will be tweaked by Jin

*and white and dark knight should both read lvl 10, i made an error there

Ill help you guys work on it since this will be a lot of work, just PM what you guys have right now and we can break up the classes between us. Then when we are finished we can come back and put our work together and see what we should edit or revise

As far as the classes go it looks like its a go, ill take care of the swordsman, samurai, mystic knight, and berserker classes.
